23952 review-little-place-makes-happy-location little-place-makes-happy-location http://www.saigonvietnamdeli.feedback/review-little-place-makes-happy-location 10 10 10 0 0 0 This little place makes me so happy! The location may seem a little sketchy to some... but the price and quality of the food is completely worth venturing in. It is a very small little deli, and everything is made to-go. The Vietnamese sandwiches are awesome and so cheap. My favorites are the BBQ pork and the chicken. The sandwiches come with jalapenos, cucumber, cilantro, and a shredded carrot/daikon mixture. I like to ask for all of the veggies on the side so that I can add them to my liking. The hot food is also delicious and amazingly inexpensive.
This little place makes me so happy! Their tasty mayo: tastier Their rolls: insanely good Their veggies: crunchier And finally...their sandwiches are somewhat cheaper. Also Try: the fresh lemonade. Not overly sweet. NB - Like its similarly-named neighbor, no seating.
I remain a huge fan of Saigon Deli across Jackson, but it is fairly high-profile; their parking gets ridiculous a lot of the time and driving around the block is just trouble. This alternative is tastier (*gasp!*) and the ordering process goes smoothly with a short line and friendly counterpersons. The Saigon Vietnam Deli, yea, that's it. Like most of the delis in the area, the food is CHEAP, you can get a sammich for $2 and tons of different options (meat, seafood, and vegetarian dishes) at great prices. What sets this Saigon Deli apart is its flavor and the taste of their food. I think it speaks volumes at the cross section of clientle that walks in - you see people roll in from Bellevue in their Mercedes as well as homeless guys that wander in from the bus stop and spend their last couple bucks on a Saigon deli sandwich.
So around 12th and Jackson, there is a super dense concentration of Vietnamese delis and about three of them are called Saigon Deli, my favorite is this one nestled in the strip mall on the corner between other restaurants and jewelry stores, The Saigon Deli..err.. 23951 review-real-deal-located-northeast-corner real-deal-located-northeast-corner http://www.saigonvietnamdeli.feedback/review-real-deal-located-northeast-corner 10 10 10 0 0 0 The real deal. Located at the northeast corner of Jackson & 12th (little stripmall). They server yummy sandwiches for ~2$ a piece, classic Vietnamese sandwich. Highlights, include that they use very good bread (I'm a frenchy) and while all sandwiches are good, you gotta try the tofu one(I almost never eat any tofu stuff, but the marinated tofu they put in the sandwich is awesome) You also have other options besides sandwiches, you can go for a 4$ box of whatever is available (like cury, fried fish etc...) and other packaged items (rolls, desserts and what not.) Note: no sitting, take out only.
The real deal. Located at the northeast corner of Jackson & 12th (little stripmall). They server yummy sandwiches for ~2$ a piece, classic Vietnamese sandwich. 23950 review-place-amazing-total-steal-value place-amazing-total-steal-value http://www.saigonvietnamdeli.feedback/review-place-amazing-total-steal-value 10 10 10 0 0 0 This place is amazing and a total steal for the value! I've tried to find a place with better, cheaper Bánh mì that could come close to this joint. With a price point of under $2 a sammie- it's impossbile. I'd reccomend each sammie with the BBQ pork and tofu versions being the highlights. There's also some other interesting deli treats and a hot bar. Eat here sparingly though. Because if all you white people gentrify it, I'm going to be highly upset and take my favorite-ness elsewhere.
This place is amazing and a total steal for the value!
